While the press has been focusing on the political drama I think the potential impact to the average taxpayer is being under-reported. For instance, if a patch to AMT is not passed before the end of the year many taxpayers will be subject to the alternative tax code. Additionally, with the tax provisions of the Affordable Care Act coming into effect in 2013, many taxpayers would be wise to do some tax planning before year end.
I haven't blogged in a while but now that I have some free time before filing season starts I will try to post more often.
